Focus Question #3

Does McCandless’s story make you think about what was/could have been wrong in his life?  How does it make you think about what you would do if you were in his shoes?

  1. If i was in his shoes i would of stayed were i could of made money and had a long, happy life instead of going into the wilderness and dieing at a early age. But if i did go into the Alaskan bush i would of at least brought warmer clothes, more food, and something to keep me company when i start to feel lonely or started to get bored.

    1. If I was in his shoes i would have left home but smarter. smart people don't burn their money and bury their rifle before going into the hostile Alaskan backcountry. i would have kept all my money and bought a bigger rifle to be better prepared for life in the bush.

  3. His story did a little but doesn't go into depth. If I was in his shoes I would has taken a different approach towards the situation. I would have been smarter if I were to "runaway". In the beginning of the book when it was telling all about his life it seemed like he had everything going for him. In my opinion it wasn't the best way to go upon the situation.
